| Bangladesh
Film Archive is a Department under the Ministry of Information, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Since its inception in 1978, BFA has been playing a catalytic
role in preserving the cine-cultural heritage and history of the
nation. It has a collection of 2115 feature films, documentaries,
news reels, short films, video tapes and DVDs. BFA has a library of 53,175 collections including books, still
photographs and memorabilia. |

Aims
and Objectives |
|
The
aims and objectives of BFA are to preserve films and film related
materials which are essential part of our national history, culture
and heritage. The aim of BFA is to create awareness about preservation
and documentation of celluloid culture for the coming generation. |

Manpower |
|
Bangladesh
Film Archive has a manpower of 38 personnel working in Film, Library,
Administration, Accounts and Store Sections. The Department is
headed by Director General. The present Director General is Iftekhar
Husain, a senior member of Bangladesh Civil Service (Information)
Cadre. There is one Director and five Section Chiefs, namely,
Film Officer, Librarian, Administrative Officer, Accounts Officer
and Store Officer. |
